Be careful with hot foiling plates if you use them as backgrounds, like this month’s Glimmer Hot Foil Plate. Because hot foiling cannot cover the entire background at once, if you have to do it multiple times, the result can be messy if you’re not careful. It is not easy to make a clean background with multiple hot-foiling works. As a tip, I usually divide the background and hot-foil it, then cut it into several pieces to fit the card base, pop them up, and paste them together to minimize the messy process. This is my way of keeping mistakes to a minimum.
And I can also say that cutting hot foiled results and making new combinations is one of the fun ways in the card-making process because you can find more interesting ideas.
Hot-foiling is a labor-intensive process, but I always forget all the hardships when I see the shiny card results. This card was hot-foiled with two colors (one of my favorite colors Blush and Skybright), cut into a right triangle, and then slightly colored with alcohol markers, focusing on the flowers, and attached to the four corners of the card base to form a background. The cutting piece, originally supposed to be placed in the center, was also cut into two pieces, and the middle of each of the four sides was decorated to complete the background.
I added the sentiment of the square in the middle to balance the overall card. Then I attached the Gold Embellishment to the four empty parts to complete the card.
